Capital Metro in Austin, Texas has implemented a new system to help blind and visually impaired riders navigate the city’s bus system. The new system called Connectings sends up-to-date transit info via the popular BlindSquare app, which provides audio cues and directions to users.
Kudos to Capital Metro for prioritizing accessibility and for doing so in a cost-efficient way that piggybacks on existing technology that is already widely-used by the blind and visually impaired community
